I took this picture of a snail last night.

Snail It rained most of the night last night and in between the showers I went out to see if the hedgehog had been but he hadn't, there were lost of slugs and snails about so that maybe the reason the hedgehog didn't visit, The food we left out was stil there this morning. I took this picture of a snail last night. Adrian

A couple more shot of a moth and a Hornet wasp both have not been identified yet but as soon as I do I'll add the correct names. I did see a large Hoverfly but I didn't have my camera on me, someone on twitter said is could have been a Drone Fly.
Adrian Wasp is a Solitary Wasp (Ectemnius) Moth is an Angle Shades Moth We got two pots of established wild flowers cheap from Tong Garden Center, We wanted some flowers to attract more insects to our garden and these would be perfect for that, We also got a Hydrangea plant too, My grandmother has a huge Hydrangea in her garden and it attracts a lot of bees of different types, just what we wanted.
Adrian Well it's a bit disappointing, I didn't see much this year appart from the bug in the first picture of my last post the usual snails & slugs and a small black hover fly. The photos I took aren't that good but I will still put them up later.
The photos taken on the 13th are now below. Just been going through my photos again and decided to get all the photos I took in our garden on 13th August 2011 and put them up here, Then on the 13th August this year I will see what creatures I can photograph and then we can compare what we saw last year to what we will see this year. So this should be Interesting, I hope.
Adrian Went out looking for the Hedgehog this evening but no sign of him, that's three nights now we havent seen him, hope he's ok and returns soon, We have put out some mealworms along with his regular food.
I took my camera out with a light and took a few photos of things crawling around, Most are bad shots but these two are the best. Adrian I wanted to capture some better footage of the bats, So I thought I'd try the high speed photo mode on my GX-1, I think it takes shots at 40 shots per second, the ISO was set to 12800 and the shutter speed was 1/640th. Im quite pleased with my first attempt. Adrian A quick video of the Hedgehog before it started raining, You can see the spikes on the Hedgehog raise as it realises I'm watching him before he runs off. He'll be back to finish of his food.
