Spotted the first Ladybird of the year and there was a small green bug flying about but I couldn't get a photo of that, The niger seed that was caught in the sieve has started sprouting.
Beautiful day today so I've been out in the garden taking a few photos and listening to the birds.

I've had questions about how I attach a close up lens to the Ltl Acorn 6210 camera, Well as you can see in the picture left I used Blu Tack, The close up lenses are the ones you screw onto SLR camera lenes and you can get them quite cheaply on eBay. The Blu Tack worked perfectly in the -4 snowy weather we have just had. As you can see the lenses I have go over the LEDs at the top and over the PIR sensor at the bottom of the lens, This does cause some glare on night images from the LEDs. I have found some 37mm close up lenses on eBay I intend getting sometime soon. I set the trail camera up on the new post I fixed to the shed facing the Squirrel feeder hoping to catch the Squirrel visiting. I put a +4 close up lens on the camera due to the closeness of the feeder.
The Squirrel didn't visit today but I did get some good shots of the Jays that visit, watch out for the comedy moment at the end. |
